A Note from Pastor Brian ......
Greetings from Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church! My name is Brian Erickson and I am the Senior Pastor of Shepherd of the Valley.
Although Shepherd of the Valley is associated with the Lutheran heritage and is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we warmly welcome all who are seeking spiritual strength and guidance in their lives. Many of our members are from other Christian traditions. They come from all parts of the United States and from many places around the world. We are becoming an increasingly multi-cultural congregation and this continues to be one of our goals.
We offer a wide selection of worship experiences. There are two Sunday morning services. Our 8:30 a.m. service is
the more traditional and always includes Holy Communion. The 10:45 a.m. service is led by a band and singing group and includes inspiring contemporary worship songs. In addition, on Saturday evenings at 5:00 p.m. we have an informal worship service in the chapel located next to our main sanctuary.
The ministry of Shepherd of the Valley includes a variety of programs of education, fellowship, outreach and service. We are especially enthused about our youth and children's ministries highlighting Christian education, year-round Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and an exciting Wednesday evening program of fun and learning during the school year. SOV's youth group meets evenings on the 2nd Friday of the month sharing a full program of activities for those of Jr. High and Senior High age. In addition, challenging camping and retreat sessions are scheduled at various times during the year.
Our ministry of service includes Shepherd of the Valley Preschool, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, providing free medical care through Mission of Mercy Medical Clinic, supporting an on-site congregation built upon a core of Ethiopian refugees and opening our doors to many community groups.
